Former FBI agent, wife plead guilty to bank fraud

A former 32 year FBI employee and his wife pleaded guilty in federal court to bank fraud, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag announced.
Charles Espinel, 61, and Jeannette Espinel, 58, of Daly City, Calif., were charged in a criminal information on June 3, 2014, with one count of Bank Fraud. The maximum statutory penalty for Bank Fraud is 30 years imprisonment and $1,000,000 fine. The Espinels’ sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 12, 2014, before the Honorable Charles Breyer, U.S. District Court Judge, in San Francisco.
