The Tennessee General Assembly is considering legislation that would require applicants for a title insurance producer license to complete a pre-licensing course.
The bill, HB 2281, was introduced by David Hawk, R-Greeneville.
The bill would add a subdivision to Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 56-6-106(a), which would state, “If the individual is applying for a title insurance line of authority, has completed a pre-licensing course of study that consists of a minimum of 30 hours of course work for title insurance.”
If adopted, the bill would take effect upon passage.
