A California law that prohibits mortgagees who acquire title to residential property through foreclosure from requiring that a buyer of the property purchase title insurance or escrow services from a particular title insurer or escrow agent may be around for a long time. The bill’s sponsor is sponsoring a new bill removing the law’s expiration date of Jan. 1, 2015.
